Unannounced power, gas outages: businessmen threaten to launch series of protests

LAHORE :The industrialists of the Lahore Township Industrial area on Friday warned of more protests if unannounced and unscheduled load shedding was not put to an end immediately. They appealed to the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to look into the matter which was hitting the entire industrial sector hard.

The office-bearers of different trade bodies including LTIA Chairman Zaheer Bhutta, Vice Chairman Khalid Mehmood Chohan, Shahzad Mughal, PIAF Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Vice Chairmen Iqbal Baig Chughtai, Shahzeb Akram, Amjad Ali Jawa, LCCI former President Mian Anjum Nisar and LTIA former Chairman Baber Mehmood addressed the participants who staged a protest against the power and gas outages here on Friday.

The demonstration started from LTIA office and culminated at Hamdard Chowk. The protesters were chanting slogans and carrying banners inscribed with slogans against concerned government authorities.
